Meet Fernando Gaines

I am a realistic charcoal/graphite artist living in Loganville, Georgia. I use my apartment as my “studio”. I quit my full-time job to pursue a career as an full-time artist. It was a high risk to take, but I believe in doing what makes you happy. Drawing brings me peace and is also a form of meditation. Michelangelo would be proud of me.

As well rounded as I am, everyone has their go-to and the majority of my work shows the human face and every detail and feature on that face. I’ve always been interested in the human body, the face especially. The many faces that can be made is almost endless and I’ve just had a thing for creating them. Using charcoal and graphite and a simple poster board, I am able to create these masterpieces with simple strokes of a brush which creates the smooth shading you see.
